Located in Queensland Australia, the Sunshine Coast is home to one of the 7 Wonders of the World, The Great Barrier Reef, and even if you have visited the land down under before, there is always something new to discover.
Noosa has some of the best surf in the country. You can find some excellent waves at Tea Tree, Granite Bay and Sunshine Beach. Even if you don’t hang ten, you can still enjoy the soft white sand and crystal clear water. If you like adventure, go parasailing, or rent a jet ski. After an afternoon at the beach, wander back into town and have a bite to eat at one of the local seafood restaurants.
If you really want to see what the area has to offer, rent a 4WD and explore the National Park and the Everglades. Grab your gear and go scuba diving off Wolf Rock or Murphy’s Reef. Not only will you see beautiful coral, but you just may come across a ship wreck or two.
Spend a night in Maroochydore and run off and join the circus. You and your family will love the flying trapeze. While you are in town, go kite surfing, or explore the estuaries in a kayak or canoe.
Of course the Sunshine Coast is not all about beaches. Spend a day in the Glass House Mountains and go abseiling, if you would rather not spend all of that energy, you can pack a picnic lunch and go bushwalking.
One of the most popular places to visit on the Coast is the Australian Zoo which is located in Beerwah. Climb aboard the safari shuttle and experience the parks newest exhibit, Africa. Cuddle with the Koala’s and feed the elephants. You can even have your picture taken with a baby crocodile.
Known as the little town that saved Queensland, Gympie is a small country village where you can book a night at a bed and breakfast and just relax. Go horse riding at Kiah Park, or take a ride on The Rattler’s Journey, which is an authentic steam train.
